R&D in Collaboration with DRDO

KS Smart Solutions is an active R&D partner with DRDO; India's premier defence research organisation developing indigenous technology solutions across simulation, embedded electronics, and mission-critical display systems. This is not contract supply. This is collaborative engineering where our team works alongside DRDO scientists and engineers to design, prototype, and develop systems that do not yet exist in India's defence inventory.
Every programme under this collaboration advances India's strategic goal of reducing dependence on foreign defence technology and building sovereign capability from the ground up.
Active R&D Programmes
Mission Rehearsal and Operational Training Systems
In collaboration with DRDO, KS Smart Solutions is developing advanced simulation systems for defence training applications, combining our proven VR simulation capability, indigenous 6DOF motion platform engineering, and real-time scenario management into next-generation training environments for India's armed forces.
The focus of the DRDO simulation R&D extends beyond existing deployed systems, exploring new platform types, new operational domains, and new levels of fidelity that push the boundary of what indigenous simulation technology can deliver for Indian defence training.

Compact Airborne Mission Display
The Tactical Mission System is a compact, lightweight airborne display and mission management unit designed for integration into small aircraft and UAV platforms. It provides pilots and operators with a unified mission display, navigation data, sensor feeds, mission parameters, and tactical situational awareness, in a form factor designed for space and weight-constrained airborne environments.
Developed in collaboration with DRDO, the TMS represents KS Smart Solutions' entry into mission-critical avionics display technology, combining our embedded electronics capability with real-time data management and ruggedised airborne integration for operational defence platforms.

Why This Collaboration Matters
For India's Defence Ecosystem Every system developed under this R&D collaboration is indigenously designed and owned — reducing India's reliance on imported defence electronics, building domestic intellectual property, and creating a foundation for future sovereign capability across simulation, avionics, and mission systems.

For KS Smart Solutions The DRDO collaboration places our engineering teams at the frontier of Indian defence technology — developing systems that do not have commercial off-the-shelf equivalents, building capabilities that compound across every future defence programme we undertake.

For India's Armed Forces Systems developed through this collaboration are designed from the outset for the operational realities of India's armed forces — high-altitude environments, extreme weather, electromagnetic contest, and the specific platform integration requirements of Indian defence hardware.
