Public Transport Safety
As part of India's Nirbhaya initiative, KS Smart Solutions designed and deployed a city-wide IP surveillance network across the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) fleet — creating a safer transit environment for women and children while giving law enforcement a real-time intelligence platform for incident prevention and rapid response.
What We Deployed
A unified, three-layer surveillance architecture connecting buses, depots, and terminals to a centralised Command and Control Centre (CCC) operated by MTC officers.
On Every Bus — IP cameras provide continuous in-vehicle coverage. Panic buttons at entry, exit, and mid-bus positions allow passengers to trigger an immediate distress alert. Each alert is automatically fused with the bus's live GPS coordinates, transmitting the vehicle's precise location to the CCC for immediate dispatch.
At Every Depot and Terminal — Eight IP cameras per site, positioned after rigorous site assessment. Installations meet full surge protection and earthing standards. Video is stored locally via NVR (minimum 30-day retention, 1080p resolution) and simultaneously mirrored to a cloud data centre for secure, redundant backup.
At the Command and Control Centre — All feeds converge at MTC's CCC, where officers monitor and analyse video in real time using advanced video analytics — enabling proactive incident prevention rather than reactive response.
