KS Smart is elated to share that the Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin recently formally launched our project – the Surveillance System and Emergency Buttons in MTC Buses, under the Nirbhaya Safe City to monitor and ensure the safety of women and children travelling on the bus.

Three CCTV Cameras are installed in the different positions inside the MTC bus to ensure that the whole bus is monitored. The cameras are also Facial Recognition enabled, to identify repeat offenders. Additionally, four panic buttons have been installed in the bus – At the entry, exit, middle left and middle right for the passengers to press it easily in case of an emergency. A Mobile Network Video Recorder is also installed in the bus, which relays the Camera and Panic Button information to the Command and Control Centre via 4G network.

An alert is raised to the Command and Control Centre when the Panic Button is pressed. Along with the alert, CCTV video recording of the incident is automatically captured, to enable further action. Continuous monitoring takes place to ensure the safety of women and children travelling in the MTC Bus.

The project is technically complex due to sheer volume of sensors involved, amount of data to be transmitted, the movement of the vehicle and its overall sensitive nature. We, KS Smart Solutions, are extremely proud of identifying a solution to these complexities and being a part of this project for the safety of women and Children, leading to a better India.
